All Classes offered through the Municipal Pool are taught using the American Red Cross swim course criteria. The Learn-to-Swim courses are based on a logical, six-level progression that helps swimmers of varying ages and abilities develop their water safety, survival and swim skills. Student's skills will be evaluated at the first class to ensure proper placement within the program. Beginners five (5) years and older start with level 1.
Lessons are taught using an 8 day lesson plan. Two additional days will be used for further swimming development and/or a fun day. If a class needs to be cancelled due to weather, there will not be a make-up day.
Only the participant is allowed in the pool area during swimming lessons, all others must remain outside of the fence.
All instructional staff are currently certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Lifeguard Training, and Water Safety Instruction. The staff is committed to providing you and your family a safe aquatic environment for learning and for fun!
